News-AUGUST 8, 2005- VANCE “JR” LATTIME WAS RELEASED FROM THE NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE PRISON ON PAROLE ON AUGUST 8, 2005.

Please be advised that neither Vance JR Lattime nor his family wish to be involved in any media interviews.  They are grateful to the Superior Court for granting JR’s motion for sentence reduction and to the parole board for granting him release on parole.  Please respect their request for privacy at this time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED MEDIA QUESTIONS REGARDING THE CASE OF STATE V. VANCE LATTIME, JR.

Many visitors to this website are seeking information about the case of State of New Hampshire v. Vance Lattime, Jr.  This case attracted a great deal of media coverage because Mr. Lattime was a co-defendant of Pamela Smart.   Attorney Stevens represents Vance "JR" Lattime.  Due to the volume and frequency of questions regarding the case, the following are some answers to frequently asked questions.  Updates to this page will be provided periodically and visitors are welcome to review the page periodically for news and updates.

CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS LEADING TO THE REDUCTION IN JR LATTIME’S SENTENCE

February 2005:

Attorney Stevens filed the motion to suspend a portion of Mr. Lattime’s sentence.  The motion to suspend sentence requested that the Court suspend three (3) years from the minimum term of Mr. Lattime’s sentence. Mr. Lattime had served 15 years of his 18 year minimum sentence as of June 2005.

May 20, 2005:

The Rockingham Superior Court held a hearing on the motion to suspend his sentence.

May 24, 2005:

The Superior Court granted the motion, which suspended three years from the minimum of Mr. Lattime’s sentence.

July 14, 2005:

The Parole Board held a parole hearing at the New Hampshire State Prison at Concord. After hearing, the parole board granted Mr. Lattime parole.

August 8, 2005:

Mr. Lattime released from the New Hampshire State Prison on parole.
